Coordinate tasks with Joe Bruno and Purushotham Ch for completing working Java app version, prototype web app version, additional candidate identification algorithms. Identify and evaluate available search APIs.
2/02/09 CRADA meeting prep Review CRADA proposal notes and prepare for Thursday, Feb. 5 meeting. Identify research tasks.
2/15/09 RSVP for LIKES Workshop See entry below (March 19) about Living in the Knowledge Society, and RSVP about it. See "Conferences & Journals" mail folder for original invite.
2/22/09 Prep paper templates Prepare paper templates for:

2/23/09 Find out format of SIGCSE presentation Find out the format of the SIGCSE Special Projects presentation. Email from Feb. 16 is unanswered so far.
2/23/09 Outline draft of SOA teaching paper Complete an outline draft for SOA course paper, for submission to CCSCE or Worldcomp.
2/26/09 Develop SHAPE research plan with Vijay Develop plan of research for the proposed research tasks for the SHAPE project.
2/27/09 CRADA tasks Submit CRADA agreement first section to Milton (and legal dept) for evaluation. Schedule next telephone meeting.
3/01/09 Alpha version of SNITCH complete Finish development of alpha release version of SNITCH and put online. Determine if renaming is needed, such as CiteFinder (same tool, different positioning). Additional use is by authors to find instances of plagiarism of their own work online. Investigate refactoring as AJAX web app instead to make use of newer Google search API.
3/04/09 to 3/07/09 SIGCSE Conference SIGCSE 2009 Conference, Chattanooga, Tennessee.

3/05/09 Complete CMS comparison For the SHAPE project, complete initial CMS comparison and prepare initial report template.
3/10/09 Research support for Wii remote & accessibility Support Andy Miller's research. Identify potential research directions and publication outlets based on his current research goals and activities. Meeting at 4pm on Tues. March 10, 2009.
3/10/09 Prep game demos for tech fair Prepare videos and executables for Villanova Technology Fair on March 12, 2009. Update web site with demos and downloads, put all game executables on memory stick for Najib to put onto laptop.
3/12/09 Villanova Technology Fair Game course demos at Technology Fair. Need game demos, Jing captures and poster.
3/16/09 CRADA tasks Follow-up on review of CRADA agreement first section to Milton (and legal dept) for evaluation. Review meeting notes, generate an initial research plan.
3/18/09 HP Innovations in Education grant opportunity Devise one or more fundable ideas to apply for HP Innovations in Education grant. Table PC, trivia idea, distance learning, Blackboard, matching funds, other ideas. No good ideas this year.
3/19/09 MultiConf-09 submission deadline Submission deadline for MultiConf-09, with applicable conferences in software engineering, enterprise information systems and web technologies, and others. Possible candidates:

3/19/09 to 3/20/09 LIKES Workshop Living in the Knowledge Society workshop hosted at Villanova, part of the LIKES research project. Cannot attend due to schedule conflict.
3/20/09 Devise model using NanoEngineer or Processing Create a model for a mechanical, nanoscale logic gate using NanoEngineer and determine capability to replicate, connect and ultimately generate underlying file representation using a nanocompiler tool. Initial model of NOT gate produced, being extended and modularized.
3/23/09 Worldcomp submission deadline Submission deadline for papers to Worldcomp 2009. Deadline was Feb. 25, 2009, then March 11, 2009, and finally March 23, 2009.

4/07/09 NSF grant writing planning meeting Meet with Vijay and Mujtaba to discuss possibilities and intentions for grant proposal to the Advanced Technological Education  (ATE) grant program.
4/08/09 Prepare & submit proposal for Vital presentation Prepare and submit a presentation proposal (30 or 60 mins) about the CPATH grant, distributed expertise and the game course for the Vital "Teaching and Learning Strategies 2009" conference at Villanova on May 14, 2009 from 9:30am to 4pm. Submission deadline is April 15, 2009.
4/14/09 Initial draft of SOA course paper Complete an initial draft using Vijay's survey data and our original proposal, and send to Vijay for his pass at it. Submission to CCSCE 2009.
4/20/09 CCSCE submission deadline Deadline for submission of papers to CCSCE 2009 (call for papers). Candidates:

4/29/09 NSF Nano. Undergrad. Edu. grant deadline Deadline for proposals to Nanotechnology Undergraduate Education (NUE) in Engineering grant program. Possible application to our computational nanotechnology modeling, simulation and compiler research.
5/12/09 Worldcomp 2009 registration & final draft deadline Final deadline for registration and submission of final, camera ready draft to Worldcomp 2009 (SERP 2009 conference).
5/22/09 NSF CCLI grant proposal deadline Submit proposal with Vijay Gehlot to NSF CCLI program.
5/26/09 Additional Worldcomp paper deadline Submit additional paper to Worldcomp, select appropriate conference, for long-version of SOA course paper with Vijay Gehlot. Length limit is 7 pages.
5/29/09 Report on SOA Course for VITAL Report due to Carol Weiss on VITAL mini-grant that supported development of SOA Course.
6/08/09 Submission deadline TFM 2009 Submission deadline for TFM 2009 conference, Nov. 2-6, 2009, Eindhoven, Netherlands. Details about use of formal methods in SOA course to make formal methods (mathematical modeling) concrete using practical application.
6/15/09 Book travel to Worldcomp Book flight, hotel, shuttle, parking for Worldcomp. Tentative itinerary, depart PHL on July 12 in evening, return from LAS on redeye on July 16. Try again to use Villanova's approved travel agent first? (Tried, too cumbersome.) Note to self: book earlier next year.
6/24/09 Final camera-ready version of FECS paper due Final version of the SOA course paper for Worldcomp due (really July 24 is the deadline, but no need to wait till then).
7/01/09 Submission deadline for IASTED PDCS Submission deadline for papers for PDCS 2009, TAT 2009, RA 2009, ISC 2009, and SEA 2009. Potential papers are:
