The purpose of this study was to determine the effect on chapped lips of a balm in the form of a stick, a balm in the form of a liquid, or no treatment. The researchers wanted to determine if the stick-balm and the liquid-balm were better for the lips than leaving the lips untreated. If that was the case, which is better, the stick-balm or the liquid-balm?
This was a challenging study because it is not easy to measure the amount of chapping.
