Readablity of Advance Directive Documents

Objective:

Researchers computed the mean readability scores for a convenience sample of ten advance directive documents.

Statistical tools:

Measures of center, scales of measurement, graphical displays, measures of spread, descriptive statistics.

Sample sizes and characteristics:

Readability scores for a convenience sample of ten advance directive documents were computed using three different scales: Gunning's Fog Index score (in grade level units), the Flesch-Kincaid formula values (also in grade level units), and the Flesch Reading score (on a scale of 0=hardest to 100=easiest.)
