- Visual C++ 2012 Express - free C and C++ compiler from Microsoft
- Compiling C programs with C++ compiler - on department system, login to either Linux server felix or helix and compile there using g++ rather than gcc. Note that programs compiled in this way will run on either Linux machine, but not on the Unix machines. If you want to run them on one of the Unix machines you will need to recompile them there using gcc.
