How to access your zyBook:

  • Visit
  • On the homepage, select the "Sign in" menu bar item (unless you are already signed in).
  • Once you are signed in, you will have access to your My zyBooks library. You will see at least two zyBooks, How to use zyBooks and Programming in C (our class zyBook).
  • To access our class zyBook, simply click on it. The chapter titles in the table of contents can be clicked to expose the section topics.

    What to do

    1. Part I: Read sections 1.1 - 1.6 (inclusive) of the Introduction chapter. Complete all participation activities listed in these sections.

The online nature of the zyBook encourages you to try things out and gives you immediate feedback. There is no limit on how many attempts you can make on the zyBook activities, and all that will be counted for your grade is completion of the required activities. Note however that your solutions are not permanently stored by the system, so if you refresh the current page or move to a different page, your answers will be lost. This feature is intentional, so that students can practice their understanding of the material as many times as they wish to.

    2. Part II: Read sections 1.7 - 1.11 (inclusive) of the Introduction chapter. Complete all participation and challenge activities listed in these sections.

    What to turn in

Nothing. The system will keep track of all completed tasks for each individual student.
