Grading and Assignments.
Grading will be based on:
I will also use classroom participation as a factor if you're on the borderline.
Homework assignments: There will be roughly six to eight homework assignments. There will be some programming assignments, in Prolog, and some written assignments.
Exams: There will be a midterm and a final. They will cover primarily material from the book and from the lectures. You are responsible for all material assigned in the book, even if it is not covered in class.
Project: This will involve choosing a topic of interest in artificial intelligence and presenting it. More detail to come.
Submitting Assignments: Assignments should be submitted by emailing them to Paula.Matuszek@villanova.edu. Note that this is not the primary contact address for Paula. Text assignments can be submitted as ASCII, RTF, PDF, Pages, or Word documents. Screenshots or other graphics can be sent as jpegs, tiffs, pngs, or gifs. If for some reason you need to use some other format, check with me first to be sure I can read it.
Please be sure that your assignment has your name somewhere within the assignment, not just in the email header. If you include attachments please be sure that each one has your name on it somewhere.
Assignment Due Dates: Assignments are due by 5PM on the due date listed, which will normally be a class night. I will take off 25% for assignments which miss the deadline but arrive by the following class. After the following class I won't accept them, because we will have discussed them in class. I will use the timestamp of arrival in my mailqueue as authoritative.
