Design Competition
General Guidelines
A design competition is an in-class exercise. You will be
given a
subject or theme to work on and be expected to create a design in class
using one of the tools that we have been studying.
- Design competitions are in class, but voting begins later
that day through webct
(see below) and goes on until the evening of the following day.
- Filename and file type are very important and should be
exactly as instructed in class.
- Be sure to get your entry in before the submission
deadline
and to check that it appears in the list of entries under your number.
Late entries: Not accepted. Excused absences are dealt in a case-by-case manner.
Voting: Vote for your favorite three entries, excluding
your own. Order does not matter. Be sure to vote!
Points: Submitting a suitable entry gets
you 8 points and voting another 2 points. Winning entries can earn
extra credit, up to a maximum of 3 extra points. In general, the number
of extra points will be proportionate to the number of votes obtained,
up to a maximum of 3 points. If you do not vote, or if you vote for your own entry, you lose the 2 points for voting and you are
disqualified from winning.
