Course Description:
Course Objectives: After taking this course, you should expect to:
- Understand how text, audio, video, and images are represented digitally
- Understand the common techniques for compressing text, audio, video, and images
- Understand how 3-D representations of virtual worlds are produced
- Understand how multimedia data can be packaged/stored for distribution
- Understand the role of the MPEG and CD standards in multimedia creation
- Understand the techniques and issues behind enforcing copyright
- Apply your course knowledge either to planning and creating a basic multimedia product or to conducting and presenting research on a multimedia topic
