Remote operation of instructions

Remote operation of instructions allows an application process to call for the execution of an operation on a remote system, while retaining a separation between the process invoking the operation and the internal characteristics of that operation. This form of interaction between remote processes complements the message-passing paradigm, increases the flexibility and contributes an important tool in construction of network-based applications.
