Content

  In the content component, zero or more octets encode primitive data elements and zero or more data items encode structured data elements. Encoding for ASN.1 data types is specified in Figure gif. For types BIT STRING and OCTET STRING, the content component may be encoded as primitive or structured. All character string types may also be encoded as primitive or structured, in which case each component data item represents a substring.
