CSC 1035: Databases for Beginners
Even before the explosion of the Web, databases were huge. Now, boosted by Web technology, databases are
ubiquitous. They’re all about organizing, accessing and presenting your
data, whether you’re a travel agency managing your clients’ accounts, a
factory keeping track of your products, or a collector tallying your DVD’s.
In CSC 1035, you’ll acquire familiarity with this subject. You’ll work in a
group to design and implement an actual database, demystifying technical
concepts along the way. Incidentally, the picture to the right is not so
mysterious as it looks: it’s presenting the relationships among different
components of a database.
